The Absolute Hotel & Spa is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Limerick city, overlooking the Abbey River and within walking distance to the city’s greatest tourist attractions. In late 2012, NTES completed a full IT audit and risk assessment to determine the hotel’s network needs providing a reliable technology solution, bespoke to their unique needs. As network security was of the utmost importance to the hotel, NTES implemented a network monitoring, antivirus and managed patching. The hotel’s email was migrated live from an in-house, aging Microsoft Exchange Server to the cloud-based Microsoft Office365. A state-of-the-art desktop monitoring software solution was also implemented to enable proactive network support and system monitoring.

NTES continues to support the hotel, restructuring their network to suit their modern office needs and advising on upgrades to future-proof their network. Phase two of this project is on the horizon to bring more best-in-class programs to this one-of-a-kind hotel. This phase will include virtualisation of the hotel’s systems and virtualised implementation of the hotel’s Opera Reservation System and POS servers – solutions NTES uniquely support and implement alongside suppliers MICROS-Fidelio.
