Windows 7 SP1 Issues

Nick Whittome, Managing Director of NTES and Microsoft MVP, has posted a technical article regarding Windows 7 SP1 install failures on Dell, HP and Acer OEM machines.   Nick has been working directly with Microsoft on this issue.

This article may help you get back to a working system in the event of this problem.   NTES suggest that Windows 7 SP1 is not installed at this time without the supervision of one of our engineers.    Please contact our offices to arrange or discuss further.

EDIT:

We have had some calls to the office already this morning asking why this is only happening now and not when the Service Pack was available on Microsoft.com for download.     To explain, the issue is only happening now as Microsoft Update and Windows Server Update Services are automatically rolling out a different version of the Service Pack.  i.e not the full download version of the service pack.
